Completion of an approved teacher education program at a regionally accredited North Carolina IHE (Institution of Higher Education).

Completion of licensing requirements through a program not defined by codes 1,3,4,6,8, or 9.

Reciprocal license based on completion of a state approved education program at a regionally accredited
IHE that follows NASDTEC (National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification) guidelines.

Reciprocal license based on completion of a state approved education program at a regionally accredited IHE in another state.

Completion of special requirements for licensing in career-technical education. License is restricted to employment in the specified area of licensing.

Reciprocal license based on completion of an NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) state approved education program at a regionally accredited IHE.

Permit to serve as a teacher under regulations adopted by the State Board of Education in December of 1998.
