Purpose
Per North North Carolina General Statute
115C-325.9 , teacher dismissal is to be reported to the State Board of Education (SBE). This can be done by notifying the SBE Attorney directly in writing.
North Carolina School systems are required to check the Dismissed Teacher List (DTL) maintained by the SBE before hiring a teacher.
If a school system is hiring someone on the DTL they
MUST contact the SBE Attorney for further instructions.
